Fuzhou University Electrical Engineering Students Visit Wonder Electric: Exploring Manufacturing and Discussing the Future


From September 16 to 17, senior students from the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation at Fuzhou University visited Fuzhou Wonder Electric Co., Ltd. for an industrial exchange program. Through factory tours, showroom visits, and discussions with company representatives, the students gained first-hand insights into motor manufacturing processes, Wonder’s development journey, and real-world industry applications, further strengthening collaboration and communication between the university and enterprise.

 

During the factory tour, the students followed the complete motor manufacturing process and gained an in-depth understanding of key production procedures. Wonder Electric has developed an integrated in-house manufacturing system covering casting, stamping, winding, varnishing, machining, assembly, and testing. The well-organized production lines allowed students to observe how essential motor components, including stators, rotors, and housings, are processed and assembled into complete motor products.

 

During the visit, Wonder’s technical team introduced the company’s quality control system, including its type testing laboratory and motor testing center. Through explanations of key testing procedures such as insulation testing, temperature rise evaluation, efficiency verification, and vibration and noise analysis, students were able to connect their academic knowledge with practical motor design, manufacturing, and validation processes.

 

Following the factory tour, the students visited Wonder’s exhibition hall to learn more about the company’s history, product portfolio, and industry applications. Established in 1988, Wonder Electric has continuously focused on motor technology development for decades. Today, its products cover a wide range of solutions, including permanent magnet synchronous motors, three-phase induction motors, DC motors, and single-phase motors, serving industries such as pumps, fans, compressors, water treatment, marine equipment, and clean energy.

 

In the showroom, Wonder’s WSTF Permanent Magnet Synchronous Integrated Machine, high-temperature motors, and IE1 high-efficiency standard motors attracted significant attention from the students. From traditional motor solutions to the development of IE3, IE4, and IE5 high-efficiency products, as well as the exploration of permanent magnet synchronous technology and intelligent control systems, students gained a deeper understanding of the industry’s evolution toward higher efficiency, smarter operation, and customized application solutions.

 

As part of the corporate culture tour, teachers and students also visited Wonder’s Party and employee activity facilities, learning about the company’s investment in employee development and workplace culture. Wonder has established a more than 1,000-square-meter employee service center equipped with spaces such as a Party activity room, reading area, and employee recreation facilities. These initiatives provide employees with platforms for learning, communication, and personal development, reflecting the company’s people-oriented approach.

 

After the tour, Wonder Electric hosted a discussion session with the visiting students. Company representatives shared insights into the current development of the electrical industry, talent requirements, and Wonder’s future growth strategies. Discussions also covered career development opportunities, internship programs, and potential career paths within the company, allowing students to better understand the connection between academic learning and future professional development.

 

This exchange program strengthened the connection between Fuzhou University and Wonder Electric while helping students gain a deeper understanding of motor manufacturing, technological development, and industry needs. Looking ahead, Wonder Electric will continue to enhance cooperation with universities in areas such as talent development, practical training, and graduate employment opportunities, providing more opportunities for electrical engineering students to explore, participate in, and grow within the manufacturing industry.
