In recent years, our country's mechanical and electrical industry has developed unprecedentedly, and all kinds of mechanical and electrical products have naturally gone to the global market. After years of development, our country's mechanical and electrical industry has now begun to take shape. The number of new products is increasing day by day, and the technical level has been greatly improved.
In the first half of 2008, our country's exports of mechanical and electrical products were US$388.88 billion, an increase of 25.4%, accounting for 58.3% of the total export value in the same period, an increase of 1.6 percentage points over the same period in 2007. Among them, the export of electrical appliances and electronic products was 160.7 billion US dollars, an increase of 24.8%; The export of machinery and equipment was 128.06 billion US dollars, an increase of 22.6%, the export of high-tech products was 196.17 billion US dollars, an increase of 21.8%, of which the import of mechanical and electrical products was 265.38 billion US dollars, an increase of 18.9%.
However, any industry that develops well has its own weaknesses that cannot be ignored, and the mechanical and electrical industry is no exception. According to the questionnaire, about 27% of enterprises said that orders in hand decreased year-on-year, 26% of enterprise orders remained flat, 47% of enterprise orders increased, and 21% of enterprise orders increased by more than 20%. The products developed by some domestic mechanical and electrical enterprises are insufficiently innovative, and most of them are hovering on low-level equipment. There are many companies in production in a region, which is highly repetitive, the price is fiercely competitive, and the profit is weak, resulting in insufficient investment in innovation. In order to meet market demand, the domestic mechanical and electrical industry should accelerate the development of primitive, low-tech characteristics, and develop in the direction of mechatronics, multi-functional, intelligent control and high precision.
